3 Ways to Bring Your Intuition Into Your Yoga Practice
Join me for an Intuitive Yoga session on May 5th!
First off, it’s been a while since my last post. The busyness of attending conferences, teaching, and everything that comes with the last sprint to the end of the semester has made me take a brief pause. But I’m back! And hopefully I’ll soon resume a regular newsletter writing routine.
I also have some exciting news! I’m teaching an Intuitive Yoga class via Zoom on the first Sunday of the month beginning in May through Intuitive Way. The first class is Sunday, May 5th at 10:00am Pacific/1:00pm Eastern. This is an all-levels class and will feature gentle movement and long-held postures. No experience with yoga or intuitive tools required! You can sign up here.
In honor of this new class, I'm sharing three ways that I like to incorporate intuitive tools into my yoga practice. They are “quick as a thought” (like my teachers say) and can help you ground your practice in a way that feels powerful and rejuvenating.
3 Ways to Bring Your Intuition Into Your Yoga Practice:
Imagine a gold bubble around you: Before you begin, imagine a bubble around you about 2-3 feet and bring it to gold. This is your personal space. Give yourself permission to move out any thoughts or energies out of your gold bubble. If you notice your thoughts start to drift at any time during practice, simply imagine moving those thoughts out of your space.
Find a color that represents an intention for your practice: Close your eyes and imagine a color in front of you that represents an intention for your practice. You might put that color into an image of a rose and ground it — clearing out anyone else’s energy. You could associate that color with a word or a feeling. At any time you need a little inspiration during your practice, you can recall that color and your intention.
Fill up with a gold sun: At the end of your practice (or anytime, really!), imagine a gold sun above your head. Fill the gold sun up with your highest intentions — healing, radical self-love, liberation, fun, etc. When you’re ready, fill yourself up from head to toe with the gold sun.
You can do one or all three of these, or adapt and make them your own! That’s the beauty of these tools — they are flexible to whatever your needs are. If you try these tools out, I’d love to hear what you think!
We’ll be practicing these tools and so much more at Intuitive Yoga on the first Sunday of the month. Hope to see you there!
