Whether or not it’s something you believe in, have ever thought of, or are skeptical about, being aware of your aura is an incredible way to claim autonomy over our own personal space. For me, this a can be especially helpful when I’m going to an intense meeting, taking public transportation, or dealing with someone I don’t particularly like.
While my aura was something I always thought existed, it wasn’t until I started doing intuitive meditation a few years ago that I actually began to practice connecting to and clearing my aura. There’s a lot of mystery surrounding the concept of an aura, but it’s simply the energetic space that surrounds you. Here are a few ideas and concepts to remember:
Our aura is typically 2-3 feet all around us. Sometimes it can be much larger if we’re taking on the energetic space of the whole room or building we’re in. Sometimes it can be much smaller if we’re feeling depleted or small.
Our aura reacts and adapts to our internal and external environment in order to keep us safe.
If we’ve had physical or emotional trauma, that can show up in the aura as a “whack.” For example, if someone betrays you, it could show up like a knife in the back of your aura, which you may or may not be aware of.
At any time and any place, you can connect to your aura. Simply close your eyes, imagine a grounding cord connecting your tailbone to the center of the earth. Then, imagine a bubble around your entire body. Notice the size of the bubble and feel free to adjust it until it feels comfortable. You can pick a color you would like your aura to vibrate at and imagine releasing any energies that aren’t in alignment with that color down your grounding cord. Finally, place a rose (or other symbol) at the edge of your aura. And if you feel you’re completely making it up, you’re on the right track!
